Hello friends! 🐰
Happy Easter! We’re excited to hop right into Develop for Good’s new and exciting updates.
Launch of the Develop for Good Fellows program 🚀
At Develop for Good, we believe strongly in equality of opportunity. The Develop for Good Fellows program is an initiative that was formed to remove financial barriers faced by students who otherwise would be unable to participate in our volunteer opportunities. We’re dedicated to making our hands-on project experiences accessible to all, and launched this initiative to reflect our priorities in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our inaugural cohort of 8 incredible Fellows was selected this month. When asked about what this fellowship meant to them, Fellows told us:
“As a first generation college student from a low income background, finances have always been a barrier for me from pursuing valuable opportunities. I feel extremely grateful for Develop for Good’s initiative and support to make opportunities more accessible through this fellowship. “
“As someone who never got any internship experience, I believe that Develop for Good has given me a great chance to get the skills needed and the experience needed to succeed in my career. I would recommend students and former students who haven’t had the chance to get an internship to apply and volunteer for Develop for Good. With the experience that this has given me, I’ve interviewed with both smaller firms and larger companies like Google and Snap for software engineer positions.”
“A grant allows me to continue my studies without worrying about the financial burden that college sometimes places on students. I am very grateful for the opportunity and the continuing opportunities this fellowship will offer me via my experiences.”
We would like to dedicate our gratitude to Amazon Web Services for directly sponsoring our first batches of Fellows!
